Knitting in 25mm needles is awkward enough so wrap your head around knitting on needles the size of lampposts attached to two heavy duty cranes and hundreds of metres of red, white and blue fabric.
I am utterly amazed by this video of David Cole's Knitting Machine. I wrote about it on Crafty Crafty several years ago but have only just come across the video on youtube as it was published last year.
The project was originally run on the 4th of July 2005 when photos of it wowed the craft world. This video shows exactly how much work went into it as David stands on a cherry picker beside the needles and acts as the hands that throw the yarn.

An amazing piece of video footage and certainly something that puts into perspective that scarf you are knitting in chunky yarn on huge needles.
