In Manchester the art of yarnstorming has found a home and they're attempting a world record breaking yarnstorm this year.
Last year Manchester's Art Yarn invited yarnstormers from all over to help them cover an entire banister in the Manchester Craft & Design Centre. The project ran in 2009 and stitched strips were sent in from far and wide.
This year the Centre are continuing the project and are asking people to keep sending in contributions until they have covered the entire banister.
The size they want is a knitted strip to measure 7cm wide x 40 cm long and it looks like crochet is just as acceptable too.
You can see more information on how to gets your yarnstorming stuff on with the project here.
