The elderflower (or sambucus) is all over the place if you're in the UK at this time of year. If you're talking English summer (and we do have one) then the taste of elderflower cordial is right in there with trips to the seaside and ants in your sandwiches. Fancy making some of your own?
One of my favourite London knitty bloggers The Knit-Nurse has written up a recipe from River Cottage Preserves Handbook by Pam Corbin recipe for making your own homemade Elderflower Cordial.
She leads you into the undergrowth to help you pick your own flowers and then into the kitchen to turn them into a refreshing bottle of English summertime. Her photography is rather lovely too.
Now all we need is a bit of sunshine to sit outside and enjoy it.
