Stand by to be utterly impressed by a mother and daugher quilting journey with some spectacular stitched results.
A Cuppa and a Catch Up is a blog dedicated to the quilt adventures of Nova, an "English girl married to an English boy" who live about as far from England as you can get, down under in Australia.
Far away from her mum Nova came up with a plan for them both to hand sew 40 squares which were exchanged in letters between her and her mum over months. The squares feature English standards like love-it-hate-it Marmite, as well as handprints and bits and bobs of home life.
Finally all 40 squares are complete and the quilt is awaiting finishing touches. It's already stunning. A really lovely idea for all the homesick handmakers out there.
Nova's handy free Helpful Little Labels for laying out your quilt are a little bit of brilliance too.
