Book review: Gourmet Crochet - a yummy yarn cookbook

Gourmet_Crochet_food.jpgAmigurumi, the art of crocheting or knitting ultra-cute stuffed toys, is everywhere these days but how about a bit of 'yummigurumi'? Taking a peek inside the woolly wonder that is Gourmet Crochet from Ivy Press, it'd be hard not to be tempted.

gourmet_crochet.jpgThe book, penned by Christen Haden (see more of her work over at Needle Noodles) and Rosy Sala, is crammed with a beautiful bellyful of crocheted yummies from funky fruit and veg, to posh picnic lunches, to my fave a whole platter of stitched sushi and dim sum.

There's also a basic crochet explanation in there for those who don't know their chain stitch from their triple treble.

It's not a weighty tome at a slim 78 pages but there's enough in there to get you hooked (excuse the pun). Perfect for those who fancy small bites of craft between those epic afghans.
