cat_knit_battersea.jpgKnitters are a generous bunch, which is a lucky thing as there are so many charity knitting projects out there right now it's a wonder there's any yarn left for selfish knitting.

Here are a few for you to get your kindly needles clicking to:

Angel Bear: Angel Bear is "the UK's fastest growing family of knitters and crocheters who knit bears for children in crisis". The site offers free knit and crochet bear patterns to help you create your bears too.

Comfort Blanket Campaign - Simply Knitting and The Knitter Dear are offering a charity blanket download for Refuge. It's an ebook of over 20 blanket square patterns, from designers such as Martin Storey, Debbie Abrahams, Alan Dart. The book can be downloaded in return for a donation to the Comfort Blanket fund.

Lisa's Stars: a community of ladies and gents who make hats, blankets, booties and teddies for premature stillborn babies throughout the UK. "Every baby deserves dignity and every parent should be able to remember their little one wrapped in love." You can either knit, promote their cause or make donations of craft material.
