Crafty Art: Car crash cows

cow_car_parts.jpgUdderly impressive to say the least, these huge handmade heifers are the work of Miina Akkijyrkka, a Finnish artist who makes gargantuan metal sculptures of farmyard beasts from old cars and other upcycled materials.

The metal mooers are often several metres high and, despite being made of scrap metal, seem rather graceful. Amooooosing arty craft on a grand scale (sorry).

  • Oooohhh! I admire how the cars turned into art. She sure can turn metal scraps into some metal masterpieces. I've checked her other works, and she's amazing! She’s like a modern day Michelangelo!

  • Holy cow! Hahaha, get it? Well, that's a pretty cool way to re-use wrecked cars. It's almost like restoring an old car back to its prime, and it's much better than letting the vehicle rot and rust away.

  • Wow. That kind of looks like the walkers they have in Star Wars. It's a creative way to use those old cars instead of letting them sit around and rust away, no? These pics must look way bigger in real life, when you consider how big cars and vans are...
