Nelson Week: Win a Whodunnknit original
It's Nelson Week! All week events are taking place to celebrate the launch of Blank Slate Books most ambitious graphic novel ever, Nelson. It brings 54 of Britain's most inspiring comic artists together in one book and it's raising money for the Shelter Homeless Charity. Tonight is the big launch at Nelson Night and Nelson has become even more crafty! You can win an exclusive edition knitted Nel, but you only have until 7pm tonight to bid.
This handknitted Nel, dressed in Nel's iconic 'Nelson' costume from the book and a handmade one off from sneaky stitcher Deadly Knitshade, is up for grabs in an auction that will take place at Gosh Comics Nelson Book Launch this evening (the window of Gosh has been attacked by several Nelson artists too!), the last of the events in a crazy comic week for the pioneering graphic novel.
The piece is the last chapter in the Nelson tale told in the book. All profits from books sold at tonight's party (where you can get your books signed by loads of the Nelson creators) will go to Shelter. The auction will also give folks the chance to bid on original Nelson artwork, as well as the Little Knitted Nel herself.
Online bids can be made for the little lady by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject "I want to bid on Little Knitted Nel!" and your details and bid in the email. Online bidding ends at 7pm this evening, so get in there quick! It's your only chance to own this exclusive part of the Nelson story, that no one else will have!
We'll be there at the Nelson party tonight to celebrate this amazing handmade tale. Hooray for Nelson!
