Crafty Art: push pin portraits

Push-Pin-Portrait.jpgMost of us crafters have a whole load of pins somewhere. Usually in a tin or box but more often than not sticking out of our feet as we finally find the pin we dropped earlier in the week that seemed to 'disappear'. How about taking a leaf from this artist's book and putting them where you can see them in the form of portraits?

These jaw-dropping Push Pin Portraits are the painstaking work of Eric Daigh, an artist working in Northern Michigan who must have a whole lot of patience.

Each piece of pin perfection uses between 25 000 and 100 000 pins and is a portrait of a real life subject. You can see some of the photos Eric works from (which are amazing in themselves) over on his Tumblr.

Just another reason to sneak into that office stationery cupboard, eh? Though I'm sure it'd take a whole lot of trips to get to the point (sorry) of the creator of these beauties.
