This coming Sunday is my daughter's christening and I've been going a little handmade mad with it. One of the items on my to-make list was the cake.
I will be writing a complete post about how I made it and how it turned out next week, but whilst searching for ideas I came across this fantastic tutorial on how to make a rose cake.
I love how simple but beautiful an idea it is and I'm sure it would really wow people. I think it would look great covered in candles for a birthday or even for Valentine's day (yes it's approaching fast, just a few weeks a way!)
The tutorial has been created by I am Baker, a talented lady who has four kids and still has time to blog and make stunning cakes!
It has the full tutorial for a two colour sponge inside too, which is pretty impressive. A cake that gets two wows? That's definitely going into my favourites!
