Mochimochi Gnomes and Snowmen attack Vogue Knitting Live
It's Vogue Knitting Live in New York this weekend (January 14-16 2012)! Woo hoo! Sadly none of us get to go, but lucky for you we've managed to get a peek at one of the exhibits just for you!
Mochimochi Land's Anna Hrachovec has conjured up the a woolly war of wits between two of knitting's most infamous tribes. The gnomes may have pointy hats but those snowmen are means shots with a snowball. You get to see it live and in all it's woolly brilliance at the show. You lucky ducks.
Other wool-based wonders at the show include a fancy gala dinner and fashion show hosted by fair-isle fiend Alice Starmore, a live charity auction with drop-dead amazing prizes including an original Nicky Epstein painting, a bound leather case of Elizabeth Zimmermann's own needles and a trip to Scotland and Iceland on the 2012 Vogue Knitting Tour, get your paws on Kaffee Fassett's brand new book, and you can chill and learn yarny basics at Vickie Howell's beginner's lounge without even buying a ticket.
But it's really all about those gnomes and snowmen. Who will win? Pootle down to Vogue Knitting Live this weekend and find out. Then come back and tell us all about it. We wish we could go!
