Back in 2010, I encountered the awesome SketchBook Project and this year they are adding a few very exciting projects to their arsenal.
One, which I'm really excited about is the 4 x 6 exchange.
It involves creating a piece of art that is 4" x 6" and sending it to Art House Co-Op HQ, together with a self addressed, stamped envelope.
Then you wait... soon, another piece of art made by an artist you've probably never met and may have never heard of will land on your door mat.
Other projects The ArtHouse Co-Op are producing include The Self-Portrait project where you send a picture of yourself to be included in a wall of faces and The Meal - inviting participants to send in pictures of what they eat on the 24th February 2012.
You may have heard of craft swaps before, where you make something, someone else makes something and you exchange? The 4 x 6 exchange is a swap on a gigantic scale, with up to 1,000 artists taking part.
But, you'd better hurry - as of writing this, there are over 800 people already included and you only have until 1st March 2012 to apply. So what are you waiting for? Go and sign up!
