Gallery: Post-It War battles rage in French offices

post_it_war.jpgWar has broken out in offices across France! The weapon of choice: the humble Post-It note.

The premise of this stationery-based battle is simple. You take a stack of brightly coloured Post It notes, and you stick them up on a wall or window to create a pixelated picture. This works as a challenge to neighbouring offices to reply in Post-It kind, with a paper picture of their own as some a form of office graffiti.

Post-it® War have dedicated a whole Tumblr to the phenomenon urging you to: "Declare war on your neighbours to come to open spaces and post your trophy! The Post-it ® is victorious!"

According to this Guardian article "Hostilities were first engaged on the gleaming facades of Montreuil office park, east of Paris, home to gaming giant Ubisoft and BNP-Paribas bank's IT systems." but with 59,102 Facebook fans and literally hundreds of submissions on the Tumblr blog it appears the papery-party has got much larger and spread worldwide.

You can spot the likes of Super Mario, Pikachu, Spongebob Squarepants, Star War's Yoda, and even Alfred Hitchcock. Who needs to do work when you can make Marilyn Monroe's face out of sticky paper squares?

Here are some of my favourites:
