The wondrous photographic art of Pauline Fowler
Above: 'Just as beautiful...' by Pauline Fowler.
Most people have cameras nowadays and it's not too tricky to take a half-way decent photo if you use the 'point and click' feature (and you take enough shots!).
However, to become an artist using the camera as your medium - or indeed a photographer, takes a great deal of skill, often years of learning the craft and a very sharp eye to capture the moment, emotions and atmosphere on film.
Pauline Fowler only picked up a camera in the last few years, but it was immediately clear she had a talent for this art form.
Visiting zoos and taking photographs of friends, family and their pets, as well as beautiful close ups of nature at its smallest and most intricate, she captures nature at its best. Pauline then spends hours delicately manipulating the images to create stunning pieces of art.
Pauline is a sculptor by trade, working in the film and television industries, based out of Shepperton Studios, Middlesex.
This is where I met Pauline (having worked for her on a number of projects) and I have been very fortunate to have been photographed by her.
Left: I was lucky to be photographed by Pauline the other day.
Recently, Pauline has created a book with a collection of her images, as well as some poetry, available from Blurb.
