Theme hotel's have been around now for a few years. They offer an escape with added pizazz, from child friendly Disney's All Star Movies resort to the more adult inspired Hotel Pelirocco with its own knitted room.
Paris has its own themed hotel too, it's only been open for a couple of years, but it has a twist on the other themed hotels.
The Au Vieux Panier in Marseille has six different rooms with each room designed and decorated by a different artist. What is really cool about this hotel though is that, like a gallery, the hotel's rooms change each season, with six new artists arriving to transform the rooms.
A new season has started at the Au Vieux Panier and one of its most amazing rooms is The Panic Room, designed and created by graffiti artist Tilt.
Tilt is a graffiti artist from Paris, who has created some amazing pieces around the world. My favourite of which is Anarchy in The UK
The room Tilt designed started as a white canvas and he wanted to "exaggerate what you can usually see in some abandoned places. Too (many) tags, too (many) drips, too (many) sentences." He also wanted to prove that all graffiti can be appreciated, from the most basic to the most intricate.
It's such an amazing room, I love the contrast between the two sides of the room and how everything has been split exactly down the middle. Everything from the bed to the plant pot and pen have been 'cut' in half with the design.
Au Vieux Panier's halls also showcase an ever changing exhibition with different artists holding exhibitions, and there are five other equally awesome rooms to choose from if the Panic Room is booked.
Have you stayed in an artist designed room? We'd love to hear about it, let us know in the comments below.
