Since having my own daughter last year, a new world has opened up to me. A world that I'd previously been ignoring. I realised just how many 'bumps' you see everyday, and how many kids products there are just itching to be bought.
One of the products that many mum's swear by is the Taggie blanket. You see them everywhere and after being with a small person for any amount of time you can see why they are so popular.
In case you have no clue as to what I'm talking about, kid's LOVE clothes tags, ribbons, in fact anything sticking out from a piece of fabric which looks like it can be sucked, pulled or just poked at!
Taggies are blankets which have ribbons (or tags) all around the edge for little'uns to play with.
Follow the fantastic How to Make a Tag blanket tutorial from The Ribbon Retreat, and you can make one from your own stash with little expense that your child (or a kid you know) will really love.
They also have some fab tutorials for nappy cakes (no, not edible nappyies!), burp cloths and baby softies, so it's worthwhile browsing through the site if you are looking to make baby related bits.
A tag blanket would make a perfect gift for a new babba in your life. It's also a great starter project for learning to sew, as you can make it as simple or as complicated as you wish.
You could embellish the blanket with their name or just use some really cool fabric that you've been meaning to find a project for!
If you make one, we'd love to see what you make, let us know!
