How to: make baby trousers from an old t-shirt

kidspants.jpgBaby clothes can get pretty expensive.. every few months you find yourself searching the racks for yet another whole new wardrobe for little one, while you haven't bought anything for yourself for months!

Sound familiar? Don't worry, rummage in your wardrobe for an old t-shirt (or steal the one your partner never wears but refuses to get rid of!) and upcycle them into a pair of trousers for your baby (or a baby you know).

This awesome tutorial from Rookie Mums shows you step by step how to transform a boring old t-shirt into a pair of groovy tracksuit bottoms that are perfect for running around in.

Rookie Mum Whitney created the video tutorial and says it only took her 30 mins to make the trousers.

Most babies sleep for at least 30 mins in the day, so why not rustle up a pair or two while they are in the land of nod?

You could also appliqué on top of them (for the more advanced sewers out there), hand embroider or embellish with flowers made from the left overs of the t-shirt by following one of these fabric flower how tos from Tip Junkie.

Which ever way you make your baby's trousers, we'd love to see - drop us a message in the comments below, and happy sewing!
