Space to grow green things is slowly being squeezed out of the world, and people are coming up with some innovative ways to claw it back. Here's an ingenious little idea from German designer Manuel Dreesmann: the Sky Farm.
Manuel's idea is to use the empty space that many people have between balconies to hang specially made plant pots. His Sky Farm pots can be lowered or raised to any height, so they're easy to water and to keep out of the way when you want to sit out.
Manuel's pots are a his solution to the global issue of garden space becoming scarce. He says "The (balcony) space on the floor is mostly needed for placing your chair and tables. But they offer a lot of unused space above your head. This is the space for the skyfarm!"
The pots are a brilliant green idea on how to make the most of your living space, and the designer is now on the look out for an investor to help him spread the idea to balconies everywhere. Find out more about the project over on Manuel's website.
