Crafty street art: Candy Chang's 'Before I Die' interactive wall

An awesome interactive street art installation has been created by artist Candy Chang in New Orleans. Hosted on an abandoned building it invites passers by to fill in the blank after 'Before I die I want to....' using chalk held in baskets attached to the wall.

Chang is an artist who seeks to make communities 'more comfortable and contemplative places', and has created street art and installations around the world in many different languages.

Her installation 'Before I die' has been or will be recreated in over 32 different locations around the world, with destinations like Kazakhstan and Australia included in the mix. Not to mention our very own wall on the Southbank in London (although unfortunately it's no longer there).

When each wall is completely filled with different hopes and dreams, the responses are catalogued, the wall is wiped clean and the process begins again.

So far the responses have reached 25,000 in seven different countries from 12 walls, and counting. There are many more walls in the planning stages or currently ongoing.

If, like me, you'd love to see or even add to one of Chang's walls but there isn't one near to you, you can buy a DIY kit, or simply follow the instructions online and make your own.

Walls are spreading across the globe, why not add your own wall and help to bring your community together at the same time?
