Above: amazing stashbusters, these amigurumi cupcakes from Knitpicks are the perfect beginning crochet pattern.
Easter is speeding up on us - and you know what that means - MUST CRAFT FASTER!!!!
When it comes to last-minute holiday crafting, amigurumi - tiny crocheted or knitted toys - are a godsend. Here are some of my favorite quickie patterns, in knitting and crochet, for slightly wacky Springtime craft.
Above: I'm terrified. Are you?
Not very exciting about the lengthening hours of daylight? Show your vampire allegiance with these hilariously toothy eggs from terrifying crafters Fun and Fang!
Above: these Peeps may be the perfect use for acrylic yarn - for a bonus, put a bell inside for a great cat toy!
When it comes to Easter candy, I love Peeps - these Day Glo-toned marshmallow chicks are a perennial reminder of all the fun I had gorging myself every Easter as a kid. Nowadays I worry about what all that artificial color might be doing to my innards (is it possible...that my stomach's turned orange?) Luckily this amigurumi pattern from Schmutzerella offers a colorful, though inedible, substitute.
Above: Dye? Dye? We don't need no stinkin' dye...
Got eggs? Prefer knitting? Check out these fun knitted egg hats from Yarn Miracle!
Above: these crochet cupcakes from Knitpicks are simply scrumptious.
Last but not least, there are some of us who don't dig on Judeo-Christian holidays but still love a) pastel colors and b) edible delights. Luckily Knitpicks has a delicious amigurumi cupcake pattern - make up a bunch for a Springtime brunch!
All of these patterns are totally free - maybe leave the authors a comment to say thank you?
