Liberty of London is always tops when it comes to cooking up new fabric designs. They draw upon such a wide array of influences, but are always quintessentially British. I really enjoyed this video about the thought process behind the new, Spring/Summer crop of Liberty art fabrics.
Their head designer, Emma Mawston, is a font of information, giving you the background on every talented person who creates Liberty fabric concepts - from Zandra Rhodes to one of the Nanny McPhee costume designers!
Prepare, though, to gnaw through your pincushion in jealousy when you see the surroundings in which the Liberty design gurus do their annual drawing retreat - it's pretty spectacular.
Liberty fabrics are available from the Liberty of London art fabrics page, and also from numerous vendors on Ebay and Etsy.
The latter two are particularly good if you want bigger pieces of fabric from past seasons, but can't get to London for Liberty's incredible semi-annual sales.
I recommend them highly for summer dresses, any kind of tailored shirt, and also for quilting. Enjoy... [All images copyright Liberty of London.]
