Craft graffiti: Miss Cross Stitch's street embroidery

miss_crossstitch.jpgmisscrossstitch_map.jpgMove over graffiti knitting. Graffiti embroidery is up for stealing your stitching street art crown. Have a look at Miss Crossstitch's thread-based street art and I challenge you not to start looking at holey street objects in a whole different way.

The artist is getting about a bit too. Beginning with a bench in Berlin, she's now stitching her way around Germany (depicted here on this clever map) and venturing into nearby countries too. And there are folks in other countries taking inspiration from Miss C and sending her pictures of their own street stitching too.

The reason behind her embroidered art? "In her opinion, embroidered things were more beautiful and cosy than before."

The cool thing is that you can also buy a street embroidery kit from her. So there's really nothing but fear stopping your from getting out there and releasing your stitching in to the wild. What are you waiting for?!
