How to: sew a Union Jack baby sundress

jubilee-dress_toft.jpgI can't think of a better way during the summer to use up a metre of fabric than to make a super cute little baby sundress for the little lady in your life especially with all the Jubilee celebrations coming up.

sundress.jpgI've just made my daughter a Union Jack dress for the jubilee after being inspired by this pretty easy sundress sewing pattern from Craftiness Is Not Optional and having some sweet Union Jack fabric in my stash.

It only took two hours from start to finish, including making the pattern. A project that's that quick definitely has my vote!

Jess, the crafty creator, has taken all the guess work out of making one too, so now there's no excuse not to zip one up on a sewing machine.

While you are visiting the blog, you should really check out all the other fantastic (and some more advanced if simple sewing isn't your thing) patterns that she's shared for free.

Right: Jess's simple sundress

Jess is a mum to two little girls, both super cute and makes a lot of clothes for them as well as sharing a few projects for adults including DIY sugar scrub.

The sundress is a great, simple shape and easy to follow pattern and would make a good little starter sewing project, especially if you are wanting to venture into the 'making your own pattern' route of sewing.

Stitched something royal for the Jubilee? Let us know in the comment below. We'd love to see it.
