Check out this rad tutorial from Boat People's Ari, and make a tribally-inspired necklace to go with each of your summer dresses.
Okay, it turns out that my ravings about summer being here were, well, premature. Here in New York it's damp, dreary and dull, but I refuse to let my summer dream die!
This sprightly, inspiring video from Boat People (in a guest spot on the excellent Threadbanger channel) has helped to keep my summery joie de vivre going strong. Using simple materials, you can make a necklace that's vaguely tribal, ultra-colorful, and perfect for pairing with summer dresses.
So, just who is the mind behind this cheery, beautifully produced video? Boat People is a fab vintage shop in one of my all-time favorite cities, Montreal (sure, I say that about a lot of cities, but who doesn't like New Orleans? Portland? Berlin? C'mon folks, I just have excellent taste!)
They have their own YouTube channel, with plenty of fun tutorials. And don't forget to check out their blog for some extremely enticing eye-candy of the vintage variety. (And the song is by Wild Ones - because you will definitely want to know!)
