Starter craft: how to get started in embroidery
Embroidery is a fantastic starter craft. You need little tools and there are tons of kits out there to help you get started.
When it comes to the technique, however it can be a little confusing at first as to how to create the stitches you need.
The newest in their technique line-up is the Satin Stitch. Each how to is explained step by step with fantastic illustrations to help you follow along. You can also learn how to create split stitch, back stitch, stem stitch and french knot as well as how to embroider on dark and stretchy fabric and how to transfer your design using tracing paper and transfer pens.
The tutorials are written by Jenny Hart who is the founder and owner of Sublime Stitching. The company, which started in 2000, has helped to change the view of embroidery by creating super funky, modern kits and patterns that are far from the embroidery you may be used to seeing.
