Needle felting is fascinating. You take the hair of a sheep, stab it repeatedly (avoiding stabbing yourself in the process) and end up with a woolly shape of your choosing (hopefully). The technique is great for making balls and beads to add to your crafty creations or string into necklaces. Fancy giving it a go?
This excellent Perfect Felted Wool Balls and Beads tutorial from Crafty Crafty favourite, Haley Pierson-Cox a.k.a.The Zen of Making, will give you a good start by leading you very simply through the whole process.
The pictures show you exactly what you should be doing and the instructions explain in such a straight-forwards way that even the most craft-clumsy should come out with a perfect globe of woolly goodness.
Hayley is a veritable Yoda of craft so it's well worth wandering through her Zen of Making site for more craft coolness. And you can stalk her on Twitter @thezenofmaking too.
