The Daisy Chain ABC Sampler from Rosy Little Things is a gorgeous celebration of vintage typography - and it's a great way to master all of the stitches that make up any skilled embroiderer's repertoire.
It's not every day in my crafty life that I am gripped by the urge to buy something. Japanese linen, adorbs quilting prints, the softest, squeeziest cashmere single ply yarn - I've grown (mostly) immune to all their charms. Otherwise I'd be up to my neck - literally - in vintage notions. It's for the best.
But when I saw the gorgeous Daisy Chain ABC sampler from Rosy Little Things, drawing together some fantastic-looking typography from the sixties and seventies, I hit 'order' immediately. It had too much vintage flavor to say no.
Maybe this is why I'm so excited about the 'new embroidery' - because sometimes, it looks just like the old embroidery. There's such a deep level of respect for the centuries of handcrafts that have gone before, whether it's from Rosy Little Things or bigger outfits, like Sublime Stitching. And that's kind of awesome.
