Crafty Event: East London Comics & Art Festival

ELCAF_POSTER.jpgThe first East London Comics & Art Festival will take place this Sunday, 17th June. Organized by ace publishers Nobrow, this fest will assemble some of the edgiest, cartooniest folk from around the UK and Europe for a day of drawing-themed events.

Dig on comics? This Sunday, June 17th, in London there will be an event as rare as Halley's Comet and as wonderful as an Ennio Morricone soundtrack - the first ever ELCAF, a cartoon art fair that will need to be experienced to be believed.

Founded by the geniuses behind London's Nobrow, one of the most exciting British comics publishers to come along in a long time, this fair will situate comics in its rightful place - at the forefront of arts culture.

Featuring work by Simone Lia (Fluffy, Please God Find Me A Husband), Tom Gauld (Goliath, Both), McBess, Eda Akaltun, Kristyna Bacynski, and many many more, this all day event at Shoreditch's Village Underground will go deep into the night, too, with a free concert by Dead Pirates and Vuvuvultures.

Visit the programme page for details on all the day's events, including kid-friendly drawing with Anorak Magazine and a brilliant "Tac au Tac", or drawing relay.

ELCAF will take place at Village Underground, 54 Holywell Lane, Shoreditch, London, EC2A 3PQ. Events kick off at 10AM.
