How to: make an upcycled notebook from a cereal box

cereal_notebooks.jpeg

These nifty notebooks are upcycled from cereal boxes and old buttons. The DIY Mini Pocket Notebook tutorial from Crème de la Craft offers an easy way to try your hand at bookbinding and do some upcycling, so why don't you give it a go?

I go through several notebooks and cereal boxes a month, and the cost of the one, and the environmental impact of the other has made me look for alternatives. These ones caught my eye because they look quite similar to the Moleskine journal, that is one of my favourites, since it is so easily customisable.

These are even more so, though, you can add whatever decorative paper and buttons you like. You can even mix and match the paper for the inside pages, so that you can have your choice of blank or ruled, heavy or light paper.

If you don't find the perfect colour for your inside paper, you can even stain your paper with coffeeas in this tutorial from Crafting a Green World.

What other kind of boxes would make suitable notebook covers? Tell us in the comments and share the upcycling ideas.

Glad you liked it! I'm gonna try and make some where you put the gray side inside and then use scrap wallpaper to cover the "cereal" side.
