How To: Paint A Watercolor Picture, with Bubbles!

watercolor_bubble_art_2.jpgCheck out a brand-new tutorial from My Cakies, and keep your kids creative this summer with watercolor bubble art!

SoCal crafty diva My Cakies has a great new tutorial up at the moment. It combines two of my favorite things - watercolors, and blowing bubbles!

That's right - Cakies has made a truly great advancement in the history of craft. She has thought up a way for kids - and adults - to paint by, very simply, blowing bubbles.

All you need is watercolor paper, artist's watercolors (the kind that come in a tube, in a semi-liquid state), bubble wands, and bubble solution. And don't forget some cute jars to mix your colors in!

Yes, it will get messy, and yes, the results are utterly unpredictable - but that's what makes it the perfect summer activity to try out with your kids. Get your art supplies set up in the back garden on a not so windy day, and have at it!

Check out Cakies' blog for plenty of other summery craft inspiration, plus cooking and just plain fun.

If you could combine two great summer activities for one crafty extravaganza, what would they be? Let us know in our comments section!
