The Strumpet, a comic uniting ladies from the US and UK comics scenes, is a great way of dipping your toe into the fantastic pool of new comics out there.
The Strumpet, the transatlantic ladies' comic I edit when I'm not getting crafty, is heading towards issue 2. And so Editor Lauren asked me to introduce you to some of the ladies as we get ready for a gala launch this fall.
When Jeremy Day and I founded the Strumpet, it was out of a sense that all of our comics friends - British and American alike - would really like one another if they could only meet! Plus, we wanted to make some of our favorite creators - who are a bit shy! - better known.
Issue 1 was a big success - we distributed it via Kickstarter, and threw ourselves a big party. It just goes to show you - even the craziest DIY idea can be a lot of fun if you approach it in the right spirit! I'll be back soon with all my favorite crowdfunding tips.
