Stitch London's knitted pigeon Olympics

stitch_london_olympics.jpgWhat better way to celebrate the London 2012 Olympics than with the world's most infamous knitted pigeon striving for gold in some of the craftiest events ever witnessed. Footage of Cooey the knitted pigeon, star of the Stitch London knitting book by Lauren O'Farrell, in her attempts to make sporting Team GB history with a crafty twist has been popping up all over social media and the crafty crowd is well and truly behind her.

Stitch_london_book.jpgCooey has so far carried a woolly Olympic flame, met the real knitted queen, and taken part in stitched sporting events such as Javelin (with a giant knitting needle), weightlifting (hefting two cotton reels) and even a bit of cycling (with the biggest bicycle button wheels ever).
